About Alice

Alice Freeman came to Vermont with her husband, author Castle Freeman Jr, in 1972 and began to paint in watercolor soon thereafter. Her art included watercolor, cartoons, still life, landscape, abstract and fantasy paintings, pottery, quilts, dioramas, and conceptual maps, as well as painted furniture.

She has taught painting workshops in California, at the Vermont State Craft Center at Frog Hollow, and in her studio.

She lives and works in Newfane with her husband, Castle, and their dachshund, Freddy.

Alice’s favorite aspect of any artwork is the juxtaposition of colors.
